Mother Earth

“Mother Earth” in Montreal, Canada living sculpture garden.  This was one of maybe a hundred living sculpture exhibits.  All that you see here are living flowers-n-plants. The figures are metal superstructure filled with dirt with flowers planted in the dirt.  The horses are 9 tons and the 45-foot Mother Earth figure is in excess of 50 tons – just spectacular.

Pianos on the Bluffs ...

It seems like the coastside has a tradition of having pianos moved to different locations on the bluffs overlooking the ocean. Every one is 'invited' to play.  The pianos are then left there for a day – a week – a month – whatever.  They are typically removed back to their “homes”.  During my runs along the coastal trails I have seen as many as 3 at any given time, at different locations.

This is a piano at the end-of-life, like a fallen Viking sent off to Valhalla in flaming glory. May the Valkyries restore it's soul to its glory days.

Light Painting

This was light painting I did last night during a night photo session shooting an 8% wee-slipper of a crescent moon at Pigeon Point Light House. This style of light painting is the inspiration of very talented Coastside Photographer Stuart Nafey of Light Doodles: The Art of Light Drawing Photography. He provided the flashing hula hoop.
